On 14th March 2017, Mr. Bruce Condie (Director, International Marketing) and Mr. Sumit Agarwal (International Officer, India) from Vancouver Island University, British Columbia, Canada, visited GD Goenka University for a meeting to explore collaboration opportunities between the two Universities. The meeting was attended by Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Vancouver Island University is a public University whose roots go back to 1936. It offers over 120 programs to more than 15000 students. The major points discussed during the meeting are as follows:

Summer School Options for Management and Computer Science students where they can spend their summer in Vancouver learning and visiting Canadian industries.
2+2 undergraduate programs in Management, Computing Science and Psychology, where students study for 2 years in GDGU, remaining 2 at VIU to get a Canadian degree and eligibility to apply for work permit.
A 1 month program for School of Education students where they can visit the high schools on campus at VIU to experience Canadian School Education system.
Student and Faculty exchange programs.

The delegates from VIU were taken for a campus round as they wanted to see the facilities at GDGU, which they found quite impressive. This collaboration could provide opportunity to students to gain international exposure in a country which has always featured in the top three countries to live. GD Goenka University has active collaborations with top Universities in USA such as Purdue University, University of California, Oklahoma State University, Texas Tech University and University of Arkansas. It also has tie ups with Politecnico De Milano, Italy; Nottingham University, UK and Seneca Colleges Ontario, Canada.
