    Prof. Sunil Saxena is an award winning media professional who has worked for 27 years as a print and web journalist and 11 years as an Academician.

    The following are some of his career highlights:.
    He has set up two schools of journalism. The first was the prestigious Asian College of Journalism, which he set up on behalf of the Indian Express Group. The second was the International Media Institute of India, which was India’s first converged multimedia school. This he set up on behalf of the International Center for Journalists, Washington. .
    He is on the Asia panel of Paris-based WAN-IFRA Academy and has conducted several national and international workshops. These include a Multimedia Workshop for Vietnamese journalists, Digital Training workshop for Sri Lankan journalists and desktop publishing workshop for Malawi journalists. .
    He has a rich experience as Editor and Journalist. He headed the Express News Service in the south. Before that he was the Editor of The Pioneer in Lucknow. He has also worked for India Today, The Times of India, India Week and Northern India Patrika. .
    As the Vice President, Express Network Private Limited, he set up 12 news sites in five languages. He also handled the Express group’s foray in e-commerce and mobile space. .
    He was awarded the Nasscom Social Innovation Honour in 2011 for piloting Gaon Ki Awaaz, India’s first mobile-based audio news and information service for and by villagers. The project also won him two South Asian awards.
