Anveshana 2018 : GD Goenka School of Engineering students’ project receives special recognition

Anveshana is an initiative to bridge the gap between schools and engineering institutes and to nurture creativity and facilitate mentoring. After submission of Abstract and review of the projects by eminent persons from various science and technical domains, two teams of GD Goenka University were selected for the final round of Anveshana 2018, Regional Level Science Exhibition & Fair of Delhi-NCR held at National Science Centre on February 15 -16, 2018. Mayank Sehdev and Vikas Rai of Mechanical Engineering Department showcased “MASVIK-1” under the guidance of Mr. Hardeep Singh and Mr. G. K. Prashant. This project was designed as a flood warning system. Amogh Madan, Aditiya Munjal and Ridhima Arora presented the other project entitled “Word Cloud for Events”under the guidance of Ms. Manisha Saini of Department of Computer Science Engineeringthatwould equip the society in better management of any natural calamity.

Dr. Anindita Roy Chowdhury from Department of Basic & Applied Sciences coordinated this Programme in collaboration with Anveshana Coordinators. The whole process of submission of project idea and scrutiny began since August 2017.Through this entire programme spanned over the last few months, B.Tech. students not only developed their own technical skill but also served a social purpose by mentoring Govt. School students on their respective projects who presented them during the final round.The efforts of each of the final round participants were acknowledged with individual certificates and medals on February 16, 2018. Moreover, the project entitled, “Word Cloud for Events” received special recognition with a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-.
