Board of Student Activities (BSA) - Literary Club hosted a debate competition on November 01, 2017. The motion of the debate was ‘Working in India is Better than Working Abroad.’ The jury for the event were Prof. (Dr.) S. Shantha Kumar, Dean Academics and Dean, School of Law & Prof. (Dr.) Reva Raina, Dean School of Education, GD Goenka University. Many students had enrolled for the debate competition and after scrutiny 22 were selected to participate in the event.

Every participant was given four minutes in total which consisted of three minutes for debating on the topic and one minute for rebuttal. Participants were judged on the basis of four parameters: Content, Rebuttal, General effectiveness, Style & technique. All the participants shared their views. The rebuttal round observed very critical questions which were answered by the participants in a very smart and balanced manner.

Govind Bali from School of Law bagged the first position in the debate competition and Shivam Mukherjee from School of Engineering and Bhavya from School of Education bagged the second prize.

The event ended with an open discussion on the topic in which the audience also participated and shared their views. This was followed by a vote of thanks by Ms. Ishika Bhatia, Vice President, Literary Club, GDGU and Mr. Utkarsh Bhardwaj, Member, Literary Club, GDGU.
