In the winters of December 2016, GD Goenka School of Engineering organized four T3 (Train the Teachers) training programs for the faculty members of the department of Computer Science & Engineering. These T3 sessions were part of the GD Goenka University-IBM collaboration for its B. Tech. (CSE) programs with specialization in “Business Analytics and Optimization” and “Cloud Computing and Virtualizations”.

The title of these four training programs were “Data Mining and Multi-Dimensional Modeling”, “Cloud Computing Architecture and Deployment Models”, “Managing Cloud” and “Business Intelligence”. The training started from 14th December and continued till 28th December where each module took 3 days each.

Mr. Sarvana, a global training partner associate from IBM was the resource person for the business analytics courses where as Mr. Yeshwanth Hegde and Mr. Rajinder Sandhu were the subject matter experts for the “Cloud Computing Architecture and Deployment Models” and “Managing Cloud”. All the resource persons were quite experienced with expertise in the usage of tools and technology, discussed during the training programs. Mr. Saravana, trained faculty members on IBM Infosphere Architect and IBM Cognos for “Multi-Dimensional Modeling” and “Business Intelligence”, Mr. Yeshwanth on “OpenStack” on CentOS and Mr. Rajinder on “Aneka Cloud”.

These training provided hands on experience and knowledge of practical aspects of the latest tools and technologies which in turn will be transferred to the students who are enrolled in the B. Tech. (CSE) with IBM specialization.
