Brief description about “National Science Day”:


In India on 28 February each year “National Science Day” is celebrated to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C V Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. It is being celebrated every year to widely spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people, to display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare and to discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science. It also gives opportunity to the young scientific minded citizens in the country. The event popularizes Science and encourages the young scientists to pursue science as a carrier.

 

Summary of the Event:


School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SOBAS) celebrated “National Science Day” today in the university auditorium with full enthusiasm. Event started with the blessing of goddess Saraswati. Thereafter students were addressed by President Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran by his valuable talk.

Dean Prof. (Dr.) Ram Krishna Thakur welcomed the President, faculties & students on the occasion by bestowing deep knowledge to the students about “National Science Day”. He also emphasised on the importance of Science and technology for the society. Quiz Competion was held on this occasion in which all the students of SOBAS tool active participation and they enjoyed a lot. Finally the event ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Ram Krishna Thakur and Prof. (Dr.) Anshu Gupta.
