Report on Cultural Event 21st September, 2018

School of Education organized a cultural event celebrating the lives of iconic figures. This is part of the course Understanding Self of the curriculum of B A/B Sc B Ed programme. The objective of the event was to make students aware of our rich cultural heritage. The students portrayed the life of Teejan Bai, the celebrated folk singer from Chhatisgarh. Her area of specialization is Pandavani folk songs that focus on the life of Pandavas. They also depicted the life of the great writer, Munshi Prem Chand. Prem Chand has written a number of short stories and novels which are a mirror of the rural India. The students performed various activities like a role play on Teejan Bai and on Prem Chand. They played her songs for which she has won international acclaim. The tremendous efforts put in by students were greatly appreciated by all.
