The 69th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at School of Education, G D Goenka University on January 29, 2018. The student-teachers performed a variety of programmes upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India. They prepared handmade cards and the National Flag tri-colour badges. These badges were distributed to the faculty and staff of the University.

The Republic Day programme commenced with the prayer “Where the mind is without fear” written by Gurudev RabindraNath Tagore. Student-teachers presented speeches on the importance of Republic Day and the highlights of the celebrations for the year 2018. Some of them recited motivational poems. Another student-teacher made an enthralling presentation on “We, the People of India”. The choir group of SoEdpresented soul-stirring patriotic songs. This was followed by “Unity in Diversity- The Folk Dances of India”. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were mesmerising. The celebrations concluded with blessings and inspirational words by Prof. (Dr.) Reva Raina, Dean, School of Education.
