‘Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured’- B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga is the means to fullest, healthiest and happiest life. And same notion is conceived by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) too, by inculcating Yoga Module to be the integral and essential part of curricula of all teacher education programmes. Perceiving the significance of Yoga in contemporary society, School of Education, G D Goenka University organized a workshop on ‘Empowering Mind and Body through Yoga’ on March 6, 2017. Dr. R. C. Roy led the workshop with the introductory note on the meaning and origin of yoga, followed by simple yogic exercises, beneficial for all the organs of the human body. Yogarcharya also insisted on the need of balanced mind as he stressed on the old age saying- ‘Healthy mind resides in healthy body only’.
