Workshop on Data Analytics – I using MATLAB

On 10th March, 2017 School of Engineering, G D Goenka University organized workshop on Data Analytics – I using MATLAB. The workshop focused on the basics of statistics, Linear Regression, Multiple Regression & Classification of the Data on MATLAB.

37 candidates attended the workshop from different Universities & Colleges namely Amity University Gurgaon, KIIT, Yamuna Institute of Technology, DSD Govt. College, Krishna Maruti Limited & G D Goenka University.

The first session focused primarily on the introduction to Basics of Statistics. In the subsequent session, problems related to statistics were given hands-on practice on MATLAB. The resource person Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Agrawal currently acting as Dean, School of Computer & System Sciences, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi was open to discussions over tea. Many faculties and students discussed their problems with him in the break.

Afternoon Session started with the brief introduction to Linear Regression, Multiple Regression & its Applications. Faculties & Students cleared up their doubts on the problems pertaining to these areas with the resource person. The final hour of the workshop emphasized upon the Classification of the Data along with its utility in Industries & Educational Organizations.

All participants stated that attending the workshop was a useful and valuable experience for them. The presentation was shared with all the participants by the resource person.
