To enhance the professional skills and competencies of the student-teachers of School of Education a workshop was organized on March 21, 2018 in collaboration with CENTA (Centre for Teacher Accreditation). The CENTA certification is based on empirically testing well- defined competencies of teaching professionals in five dimensions- Subject expertise, professional competencies, classroom communication, content development and student assessment & remediation. The CENTA micro-credentials are appreciated by the MHRD, GoI NCTE and the NITI Aayog. They are career-linked and used in teacher recruitment, professional development and planning across leading school groups all across India and in Singapore, Dubai/UAE.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Rohan Joshi, Programme Officer, CENTA. The workshop commenced with the opening remarks of Mr. Manoj Sahani, Director, CRC, G D Goenka University. During the interactive session with Mr. Joshi, student-teachers participated in various activities, group discussions and took subject as well as teaching competency tests in elementary school level English, Mathematics and General Science.
