A field trip with a difference

The School of Communication students were taken on a field trip to Dilli Haat on October 30, 2014. The objective of the field trip was to:

  • Give the students an opportunity to develop a photo portfolio as part of their internal evaluation.
  • Write news reports and produce a four-page newspaper.

The students used the entire afternoon happily clicking images of food and craft stalls for their flip book, and interviewing folk artistes, and tourists, for writing news reports.

Shweta Mahato of BJMC found the field trip “a great learning experience.” Palak Mahajan of MJMC found the trip equally useful. “Every shot we took had a unique story to tell,” she said.

In all 23 students – 16 from BJMC and 7 from MJMC – took part in the field trip. The students were accompanied by Mr. Madan Sundar Rajan, Associate Professor, and Mrs. Kani Rastogi, Assistant Professor.
