Students enrolled in IBM specialized programs participate in Poster making competition

4th March, 2016: School of Engineering at GD Goenka University in association with Skills Gap Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (an IBM partner) organised a poster making competition at its campus today. The competition was based on two themes; Cloud Computing and Virtualization, & Business Analytics and Optimization. These two themes are part of the specializations that GD Goenka University is offering to its students in collaboration with the IT Industry giant IBM. The participants of this competition were the B.Tech (CSE) students from 2nd & 4th semester, who have opted for either of these specialisations.

These were handmade posters displaying the efforts and the thoughts these students have or want to convey through their posters about these modern age technologies. Some of these participants believed in highlighting the broad categories, applications and future of these technologies, while others opted for complexities and the challenges in these field along with its impact on our daily life. The presentation area was full of enthusiasm and the creativity shown by these students in the posters was really appreciable.

The judges for the competition were; Mr. Abhijit Dutta, CRM, Skills Gap Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Usha Batra, HoD, CSE, GDGU and Dr. Pooja Sapra, Associate Professor, CSE, GDGU. Mr. NiharRanjan Roy (Assistant Professor, CSE, GDGU) coordinated the entire activities.

The winner in the Cloud Computing and Virtualization category was Pranshu Ranakoti (B.Tech CSE 2nd semester) whereas in the Business Analytics & Optimization category Ridhima Arora, (B.Tech CSE 4th semester) secured the winning spot.Winners of both categories were awarded cash prizes along with Certificates of Appreciation.
