A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between G D Goenka University and InterContinental Hotels Group on 19th Jan 2015 to provide training facility to students and faculty of School of Hospitality, G D Goenka University which offers hospitality programs in collaboration with Le Cordon Bleu. On this occasion Mr. Arindam Kunar, General Manager, IHG met Dr. Raj Singh, Vice Chancellor, GDGU and expressed his desire to extend wholehearted support to the training, learning & development needs of GDGU students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raj Singh said, “I welcome this relationship with IHG, as it is very important for students to learn from industry professionals, so as to remain in sync with ever-changing hospitality scenario all over the world. On-the-job training will equip our students with know-how that can never be learnt in a classroom setting. It is so important that education and industry work hand in hand.”
Mr. Arindam Kunar said, “We are all very excited with this development and hope that we will be able to provide guidance and practical inputs to the students of this prestigious University and contribute to their professional success. We also hope that with this development, IHG would be a preferred brand for the GDGU students for their career choice.” Many other officers from both sides and Deans and faculty members of the University were also present.
The MoU is sure to open exciting avenues for the students of G D Goenka University, for acquiring rare skills and finesse from senior professionals in a truly international hotel chain, IHG. On the other hand IHG is sure to benefit from creation of a talent pool possessing skills of the exacting standards of this bustling industry.
