Marketing Meet 2018 themed “Marketing, Technology and the Consumer: Leveraging technology for effective and efficient engagements with the consumer” was organised by School of Management on 20th April 2018 at the University campus. It aimed at providing a platform for the change makers in the marketing domain to debate and discuss the use of technology for marketing purposes.
The event commenced with the inaugral session. After invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, Dr. Arun Sacher, Dean, School of Management formally welcomed the delegates. In his welcome address, he provided a backdrop for the delibrations to be held during the conference.
This was followed by a powerpacked session by the CEO’s Forum, themed, Mastering the Digital Landscape-Today and Tomorrow. The speakers for the session were- Mr. Narayan Devanathan, Group Strategy & Executive Officer, Dentsu Advertising; Mr. Mohit Joshi, MD, Havas India; Mr Amit Goyal, Country Head, EdX; Ms. Sharmila Das, Founder & Chairwoman, Purple Audacity and Mr. Nikhil Dey, President, Public Relations & Public Affairs, Genesis-Burston Marstellar. Throughwonderful video cases, each of the leadersemphasised that as more of our daily life becomes digitised, brands that offer consumers an authentic”meaningful connection” will win. There was also a note of caution in their views on the blind frenzy of digital technology and need to be cautious.
The post lunch sessions were Panel Discussions. The extremely thought provoking and enriching first panel discussion was on the theme, Digital Advertising, Media and Marketing Analytics. The panelists were Ms. Payal Kohli, Head- Content, Living Digital, Zee Entertainment, Mr. Prateek Mathur, Director, Strategic Initiatives, Marketing & Innovation, SAP; Mr. Samir Datar, Sr. Vice President, Hakuhodo Percept, Mr. Arvind Joshi, AVP Group Strategy, Amar Ujala Group and Mr. Tuhin Sen, Associate Director, Athena Informatics and also the moderator. The group deliberated upon the changes that the digital ecosystem has brought about and how the companies are gearing up for it.
The second panel discussion was on the theme, Using Technology to Generate Consumer Insights with speakers Mr Subhransu Rout, Vice President, Consumer Insights & Intelligence, Airtel; Ms. Parnika Shrimali, Chief Solutions Officer, Millward Brown; Mr. Gaurav Mehta, Sr. Director, Insights & Marketing Services, Pepsico India; Mr. Peeyush Bajpai, Director , Big Data, Nielsen and Mr. Ajit Shankar, MD & CEO, Ardom Towergen and also the Moderator. The discussion delved on technology and its usage for generating consumer insights.
Overall, the Meet only expanded the perspective on what the industry trends foretell but also gave a real world insight into the changing topography of the business landscape in this increasingly digital world.
