2nd national conference
with motivated smiles and energized hearts, school of medical and allied sciences, gd goenka university, gurugram organized their 2nd annual conference, reach -2019 on 16th march, 2019. The conference was aimed to disseminate knowledge and diverse deliberations amongst huge pool of audience predominantly focusing on ‘the latest advancements in greener and alternative practices in pharmaceutical sciences, physiotherapy as well as nutrition and dietics.’ reach 2019 was envisioned to comprehend and speculate latest advancements in greener and alternative practices in the multidimensional arena of healthcare sciences. Dr. B. Suresh, president, pharmacy council of india was the esteemed chief guest of the event. He beautifully emphasized upon the need for different healthcare sectors and dimensions to collaborate and integrate towards effective implementation of patient healthcare. The event was marked by motivating addresses of the keynote speakers, dr. Neerjahajela, head r&d, yakult; dr. Savitaravindra, professor and head physiotherapy, m.s. Ramaiah medical college and hospital. The guest of honor for the session included dr. Shailendrasaraf, vice president pharmacy council of india and dr. Sudhirkalhan, chairman, institute of minimal access, sir ganga ram hospital, new delhi. The significance of the need of greener alternatives, exercises, probiotics and use of herbal medicines to combat challenges posed by modern day lifestyle was discussed by our venerated guests. A workshop on global perspectives of indigenous system of medicine (herbalism) in current era was delivered by dr. Anil kumar sharma, vp, m/s aimil pharmaceuticals india limited, followed by a panel discussion on various pharmacovigilance programs in india by proficient scientists of multifarious domains. Alongside pharmacy tracks, separate technical session for physiotherapy and nutrition were harmoniously conducted, which accentuated on the unexplored avenues in healthcare intervention in varying age group population. Hand on sessions were also conducted on techniques of kinesiotaping and aminoneuro frequency therapy. Around 700 students and faculty members participated in the conference and accelerated the joyous spirit of the event .reach, 2019 culminated with an enthralling group dance performance by our students and with a valedictory session, graced by dr. Gajender singh, principle and dean, college of pharmacy, pt. Bd sharma university of health sciences, rohtak. The journey of reach 2019 might have come to end, but its enlightening essence will be once again felt and shall be merrily embraced.
