Ms. R.Pushkala

Assistant Professor

R Pushkala is an architect by education with a penchant for sustainable design. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (NIT), Nagpur and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Design from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh USA.

Right from bachelors she enjoyed climate related studies and decided that she would study and practice environment responsive design. During the course of her masters she has worked on various live projects including creating a biking guideline for the city of Pittsburgh along with municipality. She also worked on community development and net zero energy building projects during this period. Post masters, she decided to come back and use her education to be a part of the green building drive in India. She has worked in Mumbai with a green building consultancy and has on field experience of about two and half years. She has worked with various developers like Kalpataru, Godrej etc. for IGBC green certification facilitation. She also has experience working on LEED USGBC and has managed team coordination for various IIT Powai GRIHA projects. She has worked on township scale projects and has incorporated urban design principles to provide sustainable master planning solutions.

She is an avid reader, enjoys photography and theater. She loves animals and has volunteered with NGOs to help towards the betterment of stray dogs and cats.
