Mr. Sunil Saxena is an award winning media professional with over 37 years of experience in Journalism,Media Education and Research (10years as an Academician and 27 years as a Journalist).Prior to joining G.D. Goenka University as Dean, School of Communication, Mr. Saxena wasworking as Director, Amity School of Communication and Dean Students Welfare at Amity University Rajasthan. He was also a Consultant to the International Center for Journalists, Washington, (a media think tank set up by Knight Foundation), and was assigned the task to set up the International Media Institute of India in NOIDA in collaboration with Society for Professional Journalists, India.
Mr. Saxena has worked with the Indian Express Group to set up the Asian College of Journalism in Bangalore. He has also worked as Assistant Professor, Times School of Journalism, New Delhi. As a Media Trainer, he is on the Asia panel of WAN-IFRA Academy based in Paris. Mr. Saxena has conducted various seminars and has several publications to his credit.He has a rich experience as Editor and Journalist of leading news papers and print media including The Pioneer, India Today, and The Times of India. Mr. Saxena also writes a media blog (www.easymedia.in) on issues related to Print Journalism, Social Media, New Media and Mobile space. Mr. Saxena has won many awards for developing GaonkiAwaaz, India’s first mobile-based audio news and information service for the villages.
Dr. Shilpi Jha is a Media professional with 16 years of experience in TV News industry and academia. She is NET qualified and has earned her doctorate in Media Economics. Prior to joining the G.D. Goenka University, she was associated as a guest faculty with several Universities and Media Institutes, which include Indraprastha University, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism University, Manav Rachna International University, and Jagran Institute of Mass Communication.
As a fresh graduate from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Shilpi’s first stint in the industry was with TV Today network where she was part of the launch team of both Aaj Tak and Headlines Today (India Today TV) as Business Correspondent. She later moved to the United States of America to work with Voice of America, as an International Broadcaster in their Hindi Service. As a student she has received several National and State level debating awards. These include the Rajasthan Patrika Award for Academic Excellence. Shilpi is an enthusiastic blogger and reader, and loves to travel.
Parul Wadhwa is an independent film producer and academic who works in documentary, hybrid forms and asian art-house cinema. She comes from a varied background of curating film festivals, archiving film memorabilia, managing film and video art residencies, restoration and color grading. Previously, she has worked in Bollywood, South Korea, the UK and the USA. She holds a Masters degree in English Language and Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has a certificate in Asian Film from the Korean Film Council, where she specializes in Asian film policies and industries of various Asian countries.
She is a recipient of several grants, awards and fellowships, including the prestigious American Film Institute’s Emerging Film Fellowship. She has previously taught at the University of Mumbai, the American Cultural Association and Flow India.
Mr Gunjan Sharma did his Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from CCS University, Meerut. After that, he did a Certificate Course in Creative Writing from the British Council, New Delhi, and a Certificate Course in Film Editing from Maya Academy of Advance Cinematics in Mumbai. He learnt the fine art of film-making under wildlife filmmaker Mike Pandey and was directly involved in the making of the longest running wildlife TV show in India- “Earth Matters”. He has made several documentaries and radio programs for UNDP, Red Cross and WHO. He is also a screenwriter for television projects and short films.
Mr Sharma loves teaching and has conducted several documentary film-making workshops. He was a Senior Lecturer at IMS Dehradun for two Years and managed the media programme of YWCA in Delhi.
Ms Neha Verma is a media professional with over eight years of experience in Radio, TV, Dubbing, Voice Over and Event Management. She did her B.Sc. in Economics, and has a double Master’s — in Business Economics and in Journalism and Mass Communication. She started her career in 2007 with AIR FM Rainbow Jalandhar as a Radio Jockey, and worked with Doordarshan as a TV anchor for live shows. She also worked as a dubbing artist with Reliance India Broadcast. Ms Neha is a Vani certified and approved Drama Artist from Prasar Bharti. She has also done programmes for Spice FM Canada. She is a recipient of Appreciation Certificate from UNICEF and has also worked as a Voice over artist for National Award Winning radio documentary “Eh Kaisi Khed”.
As the Event Manager of Lovely Professional University, she organised more than 200 University events. These include the prestigious Bhartiya Vigyan Sammelan 2012, Coke Studio Live, 7th South Asian University Festival, One India and One World. She loves to work with students and currently teaches Event Management and Radio.
