Prof. Promil Pande

Armed with a dual Masters degree in Fine Arts and Textile Design Technology Prof. Promil Pande has an executive MBA from SDA Bacconi. She has been working in the field of textiles and handicrafts for over two decades designing fabrics through weave and surface explorations for a variety of lifestyle products. Products designed by her are exported to various countries. In India she has been supplying to Fabindia for the past 10 years. Her understanding of the Indian urban and International markets, led to conceptualization and launching of “Sidhast” a brand, carving out sustainable business opportunities for Indian artisans across various craft clusters (www.sidhast.org). She continues to research indigenous craft practices and sustainable issues within the country. Her products are also available at Craft Traditions and Indian August, by the brand name of ‘Sidhast’. She had an exhibition of textiles, “Maheshwar Weaves” textiles designed and developed in Maheshwar (Madhya Pradesh) at the Central Cottage Emporium, New Delhi for the ”BasantUttsav”, in February 2005. Her diverse experience in fashion and textiles has led her to teach and conceive design curricula at multiple institutes in India.
She has worked closely on developmental projects with the Ministry of Textiles and UNDP.
Prof. Pande has authored a coursebook on ‘Indian Embroidery’ for Nios and has a forthcoming publication titled ‘Processes and uses of Traditional Dyeing Methods in Gujarat and its advantages’.
She has also presented papers at International conferences.
Prof. Arturo Dell’Acqua Bellavitis

Prof. Dell’Acqua is a professor of Industrial Design, Interior Design, Textile Design and Fashion Design at Politecnico di Milano University in Milan, Italy. At the same university, he is also the director of the Polidesign project, chairman of the Fashion Design department, and since 1990 he has been the director of the Masters Degree in Design Management and Interior Design. He has been visiting professor at many European and extra-European universities. He has lectured at the Royal Academy of Copenhagen (Denmark), at the Faculty of Architecture of Aarhus (Denmark), at De Montfort University (UK). He has conducted workshops at the Universities of Helsinki (Finland), Oslo (Norway), Orléans (France), Barcelona (Spain), Montreal (Canada), São Paulo (Brazil). He has held Interior & Lighting seminars in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Barcelona. He has taught Design Strategies and Technology and Prototypes workshops for the Design and Fashion Management courses at Bocconi Business School in Milan. He has also supervised the Italian international exchange students project (Erasmus Programme) for the Industrial and Interior Design departments at Politecnico di Milano.
