Prof. Promil Pande - Dean

Prof. Promil Pande – Dean

Armed with a dual Masters degree in Fine Arts and Textile Design Technology Prof.Promil Pande has an executive MBA from SDA Bacconi. Shehas been working in the field of textiles and handicrafts for over two decades designing fabrics through weave and surface explorations for a variety of lifestyle products.Products designed by her are exported to various countries. In India she has been supplying to Fabindia for the past 10 years. Her understanding of the Indian urban and International markets, led to conceptualization and launching of “Sidhast” a brand,carving out sustainable business opportunities for Indian artisans across various craft clusters ( ). She continues to research indigenous craft practices and sustainable issues within the country.Her products are also available at Craft Traditions and Indian August, by the brand name of ‘Sidhast’. She had an exhibition of textiles, “Maheshwar Weaves”textiles designed and developed in Maheshwar (Madhya Pradesh) at the Central Cottage Emporium, New Delhi for the ”BasantUttsav”, in February 2005.Her diverse experience in fashion and textiles has led her to teach and conceive design curricula at multiple institutes in India.

She has worked closely on developmental projects with the Ministry of Textiles and UNDP.

Prof. Pande has authored a coursebook on ‘Indian Embroidery’ for Nios and has a forthcoming publication titled ‘Processes and uses of Traditional Dyeing Methods in Gujarat and its advantages’.

She has also presented papers at International conferences

Mr. Manish Joshi - Associate Professor

Mr. Manish Joshi – Associate Professor

Manish is a Product Designer by training, a graduate of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. He has over 12 years of industry experience in 3D product development, specifically in areas of Solar PV products, Retail Design, and industrial products. He has additional experience in the areas of communication design, developing product graphics, communication collateral, and man-machine interfaces. Manish brings a rich perspective to the table, having been part of the Design Industry as an independent consultant, as department head in a Retail Design consultancy, and as a Product Design lead in a corporate setup. Manish has special interest in andragogy of Design concepts and application. He also serves as a visiting faculty at NID, Ahmedabad.

Ms. Abha Maheshwari - Assistant Professor

Ms. Abha Maheshwari – Assistant Professor

Abha is an Interior design graduate from School of Interior Design, CEPT, Ahmedabad and has multidisciplinary outlook with executive MBA from MDI, Gurgaon. Abha has previously taught at Apeejay school of Architecture & Planning, Greater Noida and NIFD, Indore. She has widely worked on Interior & exhibition design project at “designtwg”. Her research interests are based abound using wall as an “element” and its expression in Interior spaces &Management systems in field of interior design.

Mr. Tushar Jaitly - Assistant Professor

Mr. Tushar Jaitly – Assistant Professor

Tushar is an automotive designer by training and a bike designer and bike builder by profession. Graduated from Istituto Europeo di Design Turin, Italy, Tushar now runs one of India’s best custom bike design studio. With 2 years of industry experience and one to one interaction with clients taking them through the process of designing a product such as a bike on an everyday basis, Tushar brings an industry oriented design process to the table.

Ms. Paola Martani - Assistant Professor

Ms. Paola Martani – Assistant Professor

Paola is a graduate (Laurea) in Philosophy from Università degli Studi di Milano receiving the academic title of ‘Dottore in Philosophy and holds a Vocational master in Linguistic: for teaching and promoting Italian language and culture to foreigners from Università degli Studi di Milano. Her thesis was the first research of comparison between Italian and Tibetan language, where, she tried to explore the strategy to teach Italian to Tibetan speakers. She has experience in teaching Italian language and culture to Indians as she works for Italian embassy cultural Centre, New Delhi.


Dr. Pilar Maria Guerrieri – Associate Professor

Dr. Pilar Maria Guerrieri holds a PhD with honours in Architectural Design, Architectural Composition, Criticism and Theory from Politecnico di Milano, in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage in Delhi and Westminster University in London. Her passion and research focus is history of Architecture. She has been researching European and Indian cultures, the development of megacities and the effects of cultural exchanges, she developed comparative studies between urban settlements and different styles of architecture and explored the meaning of terms such as tradition, legacies and heritage. She has been extensively studying the city of Delhi pre- and post- Independence and is currently commencing a research project on European Legacies in Delhi from 1991 until present day. She has been published in several international journals, participated at national and international conferences and now publishing two books on the city of Delhi and its cultural exchanges, besides being the Commissioning Editor India for the Italian art publishing house Skira.

Ms. Koshalpreet Kaur – Assistant Professor

Koshalpreet is a Bachelor and Masters in Clothing and Textile from Punjab Agricultural University. She has undergone training by Edexcel in BTEC implementation and delivery of courses in Production Techniques, Pattern Construction and History of Fashion. She has over 12 years of experience working in the industry and as a Fashion Design Faculty in NIFT, PAU, NILA, INIFD and as a researcher with IIT Delhi and PAU Ludhiana.

Mohit Bhardwaj- Assistant Professor

Mohit Bhardwaj is a postgraduate in design from NIFT with a rich Industry experience spanning 11 years and covering designing of costumes and accessories for bollywood films (Naach & Garv), TV serials (Jassi Jaisi koi nahin) and theatre; writing ramp reviews for Designer Mode (The official magazine for FDCI) for all Fashion weeks since 2011; being the chief designer for SAKS India ltd doing design development for renowned Designers like Valentino, Chanel, Eli Saab and Georges Hobeika; and being the creative head of Maigden Mara Exports, exporting and providing innovative design solutions to Europe, Australia and Middle East. He has been involved in providing entrepreneurial support to many upcoming national and international designers.

Mr. Veerendra Malik – Assistant Professor

Mr. Veerendra Malik – Assistant Professor

Veerendra Malik is a graduate form Allababad University, a DBM for Institute of Engineering and Ruler Technology Allahabad, DCA and DCNH for Oracle Institute and has earned PGCHE Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from Nottingham Trent University, UK. Prior to joining SOFD, Veerendra Malik has total experience 19 Years of 11 years working with many national & international Companies such as JJ Valaya, Gini & Jony Ltd. US Dollar, Geo Rapid India Pvt. Ltd. (US based Co.); as well as a 8 years long academic experience in teaching various computer related subjects such as MS-Office, Photoshop, Corel Draw, InDesign Illustrator, HTML, DHTML, Google Sketch up, Auto CAD, Logic, Retail Pro, Chain Reaction, Mock shop etc. as a faculty at Pearl Academy.

Mr. Amit Singh Slathia - Associate Professor

Mr. Amit Slathia has completed his Bachelors in painting from Jammu University and Masters from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has received State as well as National awards in the field of Visual Arts including 88th All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society Award (Sculpture), 82nd All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society Award (painting) and “GOLDEN BRUSH” Merit Award .He is also the recipient of National Scholarship in Visual Art from Govt. of India, Ministry of Culture 2005-07, and Lalit Kala Academy Scholarship, National Academy of Arts, New Delhi 2005.He has conducted four solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries and also participated in many group exhibitions at national and international level including India Art Summit, “CELEBRATION” at Kumar Art Gallery, New Delhi, 49th, 57th Lalit Kala National Art Exhibition and 78th 79th, 80th, 81st and 82nd A.I.F.A.C.S, Annual Art Exhibition, New Delhi. He has organized two exhibitions for good, Resurrection-1 and Resurrection-II {J&k Flood Victim- 2014}


Mr. Joginder Singh

Joginder Singh is an architect by training and a photographer by inclination. He specialises in architectural photography. Keenly interested in architectural heritage and in a hands on application of the design process, Joginder has been teaching design and architecture.
