School of Fashion & Design, GD Goenka University participated in the India Design exhibition in the Design Pavilion. India Design exhibition, an Ogaan initiative, was an annual exhibition celebrating design and décor. Held at the NSIC Exhibition grounds- Okhla, New Delhi .The India Design exhibition brings together renowned designers from across the globe to showcase products and engage in a dialogue on various aspects of décor and design. The visitors to the exhibition range from Interior Designers, Architects, Builders& Contractors to Design Students. There was also a large number of walk-in visitors from diverse backgrounds. The design of the stall area was a joint effort between Interior Design students, design faculty and the visiting faculty from Politecnico, Milan and was fabricated & installed on site by an external agency.The curved back wall had one continuous graphic panel displaying the different disciplines offered by SoFD along with various images showcasing the work of the students. On display were prototypes developed in the school such as Chairs and Corrugated Cardboard Furniture developed during the Furniture Design module, a table stand in corrugated sheet developed during the Material Exploration module, Garments developed during various modules of Fashion Design, Carpet design in the live project (industry partnership with Canova Home).Participation of our students ensured that they were exposed to the latest Design Trends, Design Décor and Contemporary Design Ideas. The participation of SoFD in India Design 2017 was an enriching experience, both for students and the faculty.
