Prof. (Dr.) Y G Tharakan – Dean, Le Cordon Bleu School of Hospitality

Prof. (Dr.) Y G Tharakan began his career as a Chef with the Taj Mahal Hotel Resorts & Palaces, Mumbai, continued to serve for a decade in Sultanate of Oman looking after the Muscat Palace Properties where he was fortunate enough to cater a number of Kings, Princes of Kingdoms and National Heads of various countries.

With immense experience and exposure, Prof. (Dr.) Tharakan joined with the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal, Karnataka in the year 1991 and spear headed the development of the institute through curriculum development, student training and infrastructure development and brought the institute to a national prominence within a matter of a decade.

Garima Parkash

Ms. Garima Parkash – Associate Professor

Ms. Garima Parkash has over 23 years of diversified experience in Hotels, restaurant management and operations ranging from Concept building, menu designing, menu engineering, recipe development, guest interaction, training and Development, human resource hiring and management, handling employ grievances and disciplinary to hotel Food Production and service Operations.

Garima is an alumni of Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Pusa, New- Delhi and has further worked with some most renowned organisations like the Taj Group of Hotels, Coral Strand hotels-Seychelles, Wagamama London and Amity University. She has a degree in Hotel Management and a Masters in Hospitality Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of sugar free foods and their impact on the hospitality Industry.

She is a Seasoned Management Executive with demonstrated performance in different sectors ranging from Food production, F&B service, Facility planning, freelance consultancy to academics and corporate training across national and international start-ups to 5 star hotel chains. She has also had a Facilities Project Management experience in leading, managing and executing multiple projects like Intercontinental Goa and Mumbai. She in her international assignments as a chef has depicted a Collaborative approach to leading high performing and culturally diverse teams.



Ms. Shivani Mohan

Ms. Shivani Mohan – Assistant Professor

Shivani Mohan has a degree in Hotel Management, a Masters in English Literature and a PG Certificate in Mass Communication. She is a freelance writer and a journalist with over 200 articles published in national and international publications. She has also handled Corporate Communication for Corporates in the past and is also a keen blogger and social media expert. She was AVP, Corporate Communication & CSR in her previous role with a company. With 18 years of diverse experience with organisations such as Taj Group of Hotels; Robert Kennedy College, Switzerland; Khaleej Times, UAE and more she has an understanding of cross-cultural and cross-functional teams. She has also dealt with business chambers such as CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHD Chamber of Commerce, CREDAI, Ministries and Embassies in her previous roles. She has a special passion for Integrated Communication encompassing Internal Communication, External Communication, Marketing Communication and Social Media. Shivani Mohan is enthusiastic about sharing her diverse learnings with new aspirants on the threshold of promising careers.



Swati Shashi Nangia-

Ms. Swati Shashi Nangia- Assistant Professor

An alumina of IHM, Aurangabad, She has worked with Taj Hotels, JW Marriott Hotel, Mumbai, in the initial years of her career. In 2005 she specialized in Baking and Pastry from The Culinary Institute of America, New York. During her stay in USA she has worked for Mars Snack foods in Research and Development and MGM Grand Hotel , Las Vegas. In 2010 she went to pursue MBA in General Management from Southeast Missouri State University, Missouri, USA. She has taught Food Production in IIHM and IAM, Salt Lake, Kolkata. 



Saurav Chhabra

Mr. Saurav Chhabra – Assistant Professor

He holds a BSc degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University / National Council for Hotel Management.

His Experience of more than 6 years is a blend of hands-on-skills and operational abilities focussing in the areas of food & beverage production with a special focus on building up the self confidence in the budding chefs to interact with the guests.

Having started his career with the flagship property of The Lalit group as a Management trainee and with the successful completion of the programme he has been absorbed by the same group as Jr. Sous Chef. He has also been into teaching with The Lalit Suri School of Hospitality with an aim of producing products for the industry and not just graduates,

He has been awarded as heart of the house twice at the Lalit New Delhi. He has also been awarded with a scholarship course from one of the leading hospitality management university around the globe; American Hospitality Academy.


Manik Kesar

Mr. Manik Kesar- Assistant Professor

Has an extensive experience in serving Educational Institutions and Restaurants for the past 7 years. His roles have gradually changed from Assistant Manager at Mc Donald’s, Jalandhar to Academic Coordinator cum Assistant Professor with SAMS Group of Institutions; Varanasi teaching at all levels on various topics related to Hospitality, Hotel Administration and Tourism Management. He has done several research works at graduate and post graduate level. While working with Lovely Professional University as Assistant Professor, he has proven his competencies in designing course curriculum and implementing innovative instruction methodologies. He is an exceptional communicator with students, able to effectively interact with diverse populations of students at a variety of corporate/ academic levels with abilities in recognizing, respecting & nurturing the creative potential of each student & responding to all classroom queries in a spontaneous manner. A highly motivated, dynamic and single-minded academician with flair for connecting with young minds.



Suchismita Roy

Ms. Suchismita Roy – Research Associate

Ms. Suchismita Roy is an alumni of Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa and holds Masters in Hotel and Hospitality Administration. She worked with Delhi Institute of Hotel Management, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi for 2 years as a lecturer. She had also undertaken her training from The Taj Bengal, Kolkata in all the core departments of the hotel such as Food & Beverage and Rooms Division. She had exposure with The Imperial New Delhi and Country Inn & Suites Sahibabad. She has received various awards during her graduation and post-graduation time.



Ashiyaan Sarsoot

Ms. Ashiyaan Sarsoot – Research Associate

She holds a Masters in Hotel Management from Kurukshetra University and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Hotel Administration from IHM Shimla. She has worked in reputed hotels like Ista, Amritsar, Leela Kempinski, and Best Western Sky City, Gurgaon and learnt the art of Food & Beverage Services. She has been awarded & Certified as a “Master” by Remy Martin & Grants.



Neha Sharma

Ms. Neha Sharma – Research Associate

Ms Neha Sharma has more than 8 years of experience in industry, academia and research. An alumnus of Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, U.P. she has also worked with reputed organization like Destination India Pvt. Ltd (Delhi), IHM Meerut (Meerut) and Amrapali Institute of Hotel Management (Haldwani). After doing Masters in Travel and Tourism and Masters of Philosophy in Tourism Management, UGC (CBSE) NET Qualified and currently she is pursuing Ph.D. in Hospitality from HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal. She has also published several research papers in various national and international Journals (Indexed).
