Dr. Kakoli Sen, Professor & Dean, School of Humanities & Social Science & School of Education, Dean Student Welfare at GD Goenka University is a Ph.D in Management with about 20 years of work experience including Corporate and Academics. As the Regional Training Manager with Educomp she has managed teacher trainings in all of North and East India. At IILM, she has been the Dean – Student Affairs. Her profile involved managing the International Office where she developed several successful international collaborations. As the Program Director for the IILM-IBM Foundation Management Programme, she had successfully empanelled IILM with IBM as Global Training Partner. Her last assignment before joining GD Goenka University, was with IIMT as Program Director – PGPM and PGDM – HR offered through Oxford Brookes University, UK. With industry based practical and usable research interests, Dr.Sen regularly publishes papers in refereed journals and presents her research in national and international conferences including IIT Delhi, IIM Kozhikode, MDI, IMT Ghaziabad, AIMA and others. She has also recently presented a paper and chaired a session at the Harvard University Conference in May 2015. She is invited as Panelist and speaker to various prestigious forums and is empanelled as a resource person/expert with Consortium for Educational Communication, an Inter University Centre established by UGC and delivers Live Lectures on EDUSAT. Community Development is her passion and she leads several sensitization campaigns at the GD Goenka University for an inclusive society.
Minakshi Biswas teaches Political Science. She has completed her Post graduation and MPhil from Centre for Political Studies, JNU. At present she is also pursuing her PhD from Centre for Political Studies, JNU. Her research work mainly revolves around questions of right to life, euthanasia terminal care, elderly care and the role of the state in these issues. Her areas of interest are political philosophy and bio politics. She qualified UGC NET in June 2015. She has also presented several papers in various national and international conferences and has several publications to her credit.
Sakshi Kaul – Assistant Professor
Sakshi is passionate about working with students and believes in enabling personal enhancement and growth. Being a counsellor & NLP Practitioner she believes that education is the source of enlightenment. With an experience of about 12 years in the area of Counselling & Training. She has worked extensively with students in the areas of Self Introspection, Managing Relationship, Emotion Management & Positive Behavior. She has also worked with Special needs children and introduced inclusive learning for them in the schools she was associated with. Her Ph.D is in the area of Designing Psychological Interventions for well-being of students. She has done Masters in Applied Psychology from Delhi University. Her areas of research interest are Positive Psychology and Intervention work related to Children and Women. She presented a paper in 2015 at Singapore on loneliness experienced by women.
She has been with G.D. Goenka University since 2014. Besides work she has an artistic inclination and writes poetry.
Priya Vij is Masters in Business Economics from Punjab University with more than 7 years of work experience. She is NET qualified and is pursuing her PhD in Retail Management. At present her research work is at the stage of data collection wherein she is interacting with mangers of various retail companies such as Future group, Bharti, Reliance and Landmark etc. Previously she has worked as an Assistant Professor with Punjab University and Amity University, Gurgaon. Apart from teaching, she was also the Coordinator for the Amity School of Economics and has also worked for the Dean’s office on curriculum re-designing and implementation. She has been the Sub-convener for the HR summit organized by SVIET. She has presented 8 national and international conference papers and also has publications to her credit. Priya has a spiritual bent of mend and believes that one must keep spiritual balance as we grow in life.
Dr. Sarika is passionate about understanding people’s unique stories and providing a safe and non-judgmental space where they feel heard and supported. She obtained her Doctoral degree from MDU, Rohtak. Her area of research is ‘Psychological and Cognitive Alterations Due to Chronic Insomnia- Assessment and Management’. She has done her masters in Clinical Psychology from GJU, Hisar. In addition to her PG Diploma in Guidance & Counselling from Jamia Milia Islamia, she has also done a course in Psychological First Aid, John Hopkins University from Maryland, US and Certificate course in Autism Spectrum Disorders from University of California, Davis.
Her experience ranges from working as a Clinical Psychologist at some of the best hospitals in Delhi NCR- Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, Park Hospital and Artemis in Delhi NCR to faculty at Sri Aurobindo College- Delhi University.
She has 11 research publications to her name. Some of the topics include- Effect of parent-child relationship & adjustment on achievement motivation of school children and Predicting conflict resolution styles from personality profiles of students and Violence and Conflict Resolution. Sarika is a seasoned writer and contributes regularly to various websites and blogs. She also has a keen interest in Information technology and health concepts (food and fitness).
Dr. Parul Mishra – Assistant Professor
Dr. Parul Mishra with approx. nine years of work experience in teaching and research is a Ph.D in English from Banasthali University, Rajasthan. Dr. Mishra has taught English Literature, Communication Skills English, Personality Development, Phonetics, Skills for Employability and Entrepreneurship etc. at both Undergraduate & Postgraduate levels. Her areas of interest are Indian English Literature and English Language teaching.
She has done extensive and intensive research in the field of drama, theatre, mythology, folklore, existential concerns, feminine sensibility and cognitive approaches of teaching English language. Contributing a number of research papers, articles, poems and reviews to different journals of National and International repute, she has also presented her papers in the UGC/AICTE sponsored National/International Seminars/Conferences etc.
With an enthusiastic approach towards learning, Dr. Parul has also completed a few on-line certifications/courses from Cambridge, British Council, Microsoft and IIT Bombay. She has been associated with many journals as a member in their Advisory/Editorial/Reviewers committee. Besides being an editor of monthly Newsletter, she has also edited study materials related to Communication skills for B.Tech/BBA/MBA/ students. She is associated with some Literary/Technical Societies, NGOs and libraries like British Council Library, New Delhi; American Library, New Delhi; Sahitya Academy, New Delhi.
Dr. Tanu Kukreja – Assistant Professor
Dr. Tanu has approx. 6 years of teaching experience in Psychology. She completed her Ph.D from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Haryana. Her main interest areas are Child Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Spirituality. She has many research papers to her credit. Dr. Tanu is an International affiliate with American Psychological Association; member of International Council of Professional Therapist; registered member of Indian Academy of Psychology; also member of Editorial board for International Journal of Application or Innovation in Engineering and Management. She has conducted many workshops on Parenting and Teaching effectiveness. She specializes in child and adolescent’s counselling.
Sagarika Goswami – Assistant Professor
A visionary professional with over 15 years of progressive experience augmented by a strong academic and professional background in Academics, Mass Media, Corporate and NGO, Sagarika is a creative and inventive thinker. Other than being NET qualified in Linguistics, she has also accomplished Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. At present she is pursuing her research in interdisciplinary field of Behavioral Sciences and Management.
Her projects related with social, entrepreneurial and environmental issues have received National as well as International appreciation and accolades, some of them being UNILIVER, USA. Being a part of American Society of Quality and Enactus India, she built the bridge between Academia and Industry.
She loves working with young minds and has always mentored, encouraged and guided youth in National and International platforms like in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). She believes that- ‘ It’s the youth who can bring change in the society.’
In her leisure time she prefers to read books, write poetry and inspirational short stories.
Mr. UjjwalGaur – Assistant Professor
Mr. Ujjwal has been involved in economic research and analysis for the last five years. He has worked on various projects and datasets in Development Economics as a Research Associate in Economics and Public Policy Area at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. His prior experience of working as an Economist at a Public Sector Bank has enriched his understanding of the Banking Industry, Monetary Policy framework and Strategic Business Planning. He is a firm believer in promoting inter disciplinary research in social sciences, and believes there is much scope and potential for learning by integrating diverse approaches especially for improving public policy outcomes.
He has done MA in Economics from University of Hyderabad, and BA (Hons) Economics from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. He has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, and Junior Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (JAIIB) exam. Along with his coursework, he has undertaken various internships including social work, field work and research work.
Anurupa – Assistant Professor
Ms. Anurupa is an Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and is currently pursuing her Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her academic and research orientation has enabled her to take up teaching as a profession. She has been engaged with the discipline of Sociology for the past ten years. Her areas of research interest are primarily issues circumscribing gender and sexuality. Anurupa submitted her M.Phil dissertation in Sociology from the University of Hyderabad.
She has been invited to attend several workshops related to her themes of research. She believes that theory without practice will defeat the cause of Social Sciences and thus there is a need for sheer activism in this era of crisis. She has previously worked as a Lecturer and supervised B.A student’s with their dissertation. Anurupa holds a very pronounced spiritual bent of mind and also complies on the power of the ‘collective’ and team work.
She has completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Amity University, Gurgaon and bachelors from University of Delhi. She has worked as a counseling trainee in Neuroscience department, Medanta-The Medicity. She strongly believes that community work helps you grow more and voluntarily, she has undertaken some community service projects. Her areas of interest are counseling psychology and social psychology. She has presented a paper on “Depression and Spiritual Personality amongst PG Students”.
