School of Law hosted a guest lecture on ‘Inter- Country Adoption and Related Matters’ for the students by on October 18, 2016 by Smt. C. Saraswati, Deputy Director, Central Adoption and Resource Authority, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. She has been supervising Inter-country adoption cases (Hague & non-Hague countries) and Inter-country related matters, policies etc. In this lecture she dealt with issues like rights of deprived children in India, importance of central adoption and resource authority (CARA) in current scenario, difference of in-country and inter-country adoption procedures etc. and tried to present an overview of inter- country adoption and related matters in India. This lecture not only gave the students an opportunity to learn about adoption issues which require great concern but also interact with Smt. C. Saraswati and obtain first hand practical information on related queries.
