The Masters in Business Administration is a postgraduate level qualification targeted for students coming from diverse backgrounds. The programme has core courses, competency builders, amalgamators, augmenters, practical work, case studies, industry interface and research covering all functional areas of management. Students will be exposed to healthy management practices along with theoretical constructs. They will have the flexibility of choosing optional courses in each semester to enhance and enrich their knowledge in areas other than the specialized area.

School of Management also has collaboration with British Standards Institution (BSI), a leading global independent business services organization that develop Standards to help business and industry in the delivery of specialized courses in Management Systems and Business Performance Programmes.

Programme Educational Objectives

  • Study of organizations, their management and the changing internal and
    external environment in which these operate
  • Produce graduates equipped to integrate a range of functional skills and
    specializations
  • Transform graduates into effective managers and efficient leaders

Programme Outcome

Towards the end of the programme, students will be able to:

  • develop an ability to effectively communicate with customers and other
    stakeholders
  • develop the capability of working independently and in a team
  • creatively solve complex business situations and problems
  • develop flavor for collating and analyzing data and information by effective use
    of IT tools
  • become proficient in using mathematical, analytical and statistical tools.
  • develop an understanding of various management functions such as finance, operations & supply chain, marketing and human resource.

Programme Highlights

Teaching is done through interactive sessions in the classroom. Real life scenarios and situations are shared through videos, audios, role plays, tutorials and group work. Emphasis is laid on practical work which is simulated through case studies, actual projects and learning by doing. The knowledge and skills of students are assessed by innovative techniques. The parameters for assessment are professionally developed for each competency. The programme also includes flexible credit structure with variety of options from amalgamators, augmenters and competency builders (please see university website for details).

Some of the major areas that will be covered

Supply chain and operations, General Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Financial Management, Marketing Management, Economics, Statistical and Quantitative Methods, Information Technology and Management Accounting as offered by CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK).

Career Avenues

One can develop a career in sectors ranging from FMCG, Retail, Tourism, Banking, Hospitality, IT and ITeS, Media, PR & Advertising, Consultancy, Market Research etc.

Entry Requirements

An undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline from UGC approved University. In addition, applicants will also have to successfully complete Goenka Aptitude Test for Admission (GATA) and appear for a personal interview.
