Sidharth Saini (1st Year B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering student) and Utsav Agrawal (1st Year B. Tech. Computer Science and Engineering student) of G D Goenka University cleared the first round of the IFEHE National Creativity Aptitude Test 2014. They will now compete at IIT Delhi for the final round at National level.
NCAT-2014, an initiative of International Forum for Excellence in Higher Education to sensitize the students to the domain of creative thinking and motivate them to read, learn and practice the same was conducted at G D Goenka University (GDGU) in association with IFEHE on 10th February, 2014. GD Goenka University was one of the 72 Colleges/ Universities across India where the test was conducted. At GDGU, 43 enthusiastic undergraduate engineering students appeared for the NCAT-2014. Faculty members Ms. Shipra Kataria and Ms. Anita Jindal coordinated the entire proceedings at local level.
The aim of NCAT-2014 (Olympiad) is to assess a student’s creative abilities and his/her achievement/ motivation. It is believed that this will unearth hidden talents and encourage students who may have felt discouraged, to participate in the learning process more willingly and meaningfully with a renewed sense of self-belief and self-confidence. This assessment would naturally lead to the child’s inclination to improve upon the same and search for resources in that direction. Given an appropriate environment this will lead to enhanced creativity and achievement/motivation.
School of Engineering, G D Goenka University congratulates both the students (Sidharth Saini and Utsav Agrawal) and wishes them good luck for the final round of the test.
