The School of Communication, G.D. Goenka University, has invited Mr Christopher Conte, a two-time Knight International Journalism Fellow and a former News Editor of The Wall Street Journal, to improve the writing skills of media students and conduct a workshop for journalists.

Mr Conte will be on the campus from August 13 to August 31. During this period, he will conduct a two-day workshop titled “Beyond the Inverted Pyramid: The Enduring Power of Narrative” on August 16 and 17, 2016.

The unique feature of the workshop, which is being organised for journalists, is that the participants will learn how to look beyond news and write analytical, in depth and descriptive reports.

Mr Conte will then conduct a four-day writing workshop for the second and third year students of BJMC. The focus of the workshop will be to improve the writing skills of the students. This workshop will be conducted from August 23 to August 27, 2016.

Mr Conte will end his University engagement by addressing the BJMC and MJMC students who will be joining the School of Communication this year.

Mr Conte has offered to continue his association with the University even after he leaves for home. He will continue to mentor the University students for free even after the workshop is over.
