A 3-day training program from 26th-29th September 2016 by BENTLEY on “STAAD PRO” and other cutting age Software used by Civil Engineers like “MXROAD”, “Energy Simulation”.”WATERGEMS” etc. was organised by GD Goenka School of Engineering for its faculty members and students. Mr. Soumya R.Samartha was the subject matter expert for the program, who is a Bentley Trainer.

During these three days various topics were covered. These includedmaking a structure, assigning different types of loads like dead, live, wind seismic load and analyse various parameters in detail. The training also covered many case studies used in safe, economical competent design for multi-story building, stadium, bridge, road and other different models used in these days at high frequency. The sessions were quite interactive and helpful for the faculty members and students who seek knowledge and skills.

GD Goenka School of Engineering believes in developing the skill set of the students to help them become more employable. Most of the Civil Engineering work has now shifted from papers to computers. All the planning, costing, estimating, designing, analysis and simulations are done using software before a single brick is laid. Learning of these software is key to getting good quality and high paying jobs in the domain of civil engineering. GD Goenka University keeps organizing such trainings and hands-on workshop to benefit its students
