The School of Communication needed a signature tune for Radio G, the radio station that was being launched by the school to train its students in radio production. Instead of asking a professional agency to create the tune, the School Dean asked the students to take up the challenge.
One student, Shaquille Avasthi Gopal, rose to the occasion. He used his Apple Mac to create a peppy tune that had the makings of a signature tune. He was asked to rework on his first submission, which he did.
The final tune won instant approval from the faculty and the students, and today the tune created by Shaquille who is doing his Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication, is the official signature tune of Radio G.
You too can listen to the signature tune by clicking on the web address given below:
This is not the only contribution of Shaquille to the University’s programmes. In 2014, when Shaquille was in the first semester of BJMC he edited the promotional video of the engineering conference.
The School of Communication trains and encourages its students to use media software to create radio jingles, corporate films, news bulletins, tabloid newspapers, etc as part of their regular studies.
