G.D. Goenka University (GDGU) was visited by the delegation from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT),UK and the UK India Business Council (UKIBC) on 29th January 2014. The visit was organized to charter the road map for Centre of Excellence on Supply Chain Management, recently set up at GDGU in collaboration with CILT.
The delegation included Paul Brooks, President Elect-CILT, Keith Newton, International Secretary General- CILT, Mr. Rohit Singh & Ms. Rajni Sachdeva of UKIBC.Ã‚Â
During the visit the delegation discussed possible ways to strengthen and expand association with GDGU. Vice Chancellor- Prof. (Dr.) Raj Singh briefed the delegation on the emerging India scenario on supply chain management. Dean School of Management- Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Goel, Registrar- Dr. Nitesh Bansal, Prof. (Dr.) Samar Sarabhai and Dr. Tanuja Kaushik from School of Management participated in the discussions. Both the parties shared information about the structure and main activities of the Centre of Excellence and discussed the trends in Supply Chain Management.Ã‚Â It was agreed that the Centre of Excellence and CILT would jointly undertake research, conduct executive training, joint conferences and short courses in the area of Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
The delegation also visited the campus and met students during which they elaborated on the career prospects in the area of supply chain.
