On 19th April 2016, the second and third year Electronics and Communication Engineering students went on an industrial trip to Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Noida. Since 2003, Aptron Solutions has provided knowledge to individuals and corporate clients under the brand name ofNetexperts.It works in various domains for its client covering leading technology firms as Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, SAP, CompTIA, Red Hat, Salesforce & many more etc. Aptron Solutions offers strategic training paths for the certification required to support today’s technologies, while offering a broad curriculum of application focused modules for clients looking to implement new/upgraded business applications.

>The organization works in three parallel dimensions namely, Training, Development and Placement. The students were tutored about VOIP technology which provides multiple functionality. The acclaimed T1/E1 channels for direct telephone calls were talked about and demonstrated to students. ISP (Internet Service Provider) in context of placing regular internet based calls, voice mail in terms of CUE (Cisco Unity Express) and CUC (Cisco Unity Connection); function of a Router, Management Router, its components and the role of flash memory was demonstrated. TelNet and SSH were talked about, focusing on the application and flaws of TelNet, which is a CLI (Command Line Interface) and less secure as keywords are visible. Real time functioning of WIRESHARK, software for capturing the packets by tapping inside the LAN arrangement, was shown. OSI and TCP/IP models were also discussed. The concept of Firewall, reason for its redundancy and emergence of UTM were explained to the students in detail. The difference between the two protocols for communication over a computer network viz. ‘HHTP’ and “HTTPS’ were explained.Knowledge sharing was focused on the emergence of HTTPS. Apart from Networking, students were also briefed about the various micro controllers and microprocessors. The exhaustive development methodology followed at Aptron was talked about and the various commercial products developed so far were demonstrated. The various microprocessor families like PIC, ARM and others were explained. The students were also made aware of the various career opportunities available at Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The trip was very informative and motivating where students could easily identify the area of their interest by hands-on-experience.
