Engineering Students Earn Fully Funded Summer Internship in U.S.A.

3 students from GD Goenka School of Engineering: Gagan Bhardwaj (3rd year Mechanical Engineering), Rahul Biswash (3rd year Electronics & Communications Engineering) and Diksha Prakash (2nd year Electronics & Communications Engineering) have been selected for summer internship at University of Arkansas, USA. The internship is fully funded by the University of Arkansas which selects students from all over the world based on their academic performance or extraordinary contribution towards research & development, to work as ‘Research Engineering Undergraduates’ for a period of 10 weeks.

Last summer Shreya Prakash and Prachi Siwach from School of Engineering did their internship at University of Arkansas and their experience motivated a large number of students to apply for this opportunity in the current year. Out of many applicants, 3 have been selected, who will be joining their assigned duties on 29th May 2016. The students will come back and present their research work at GD Goenka University to earn credits for the same. In the couple of months these students will spend at University of Arkansas, they would get to work in high tech laboratories on the latest and emerging technologies. This experience will help in broadening their horizons and enhancing their skill sets.

GD Goenka University has an active collaboration with University of Arkansas and is involved in various initiatives such as internships, student/faculty exchange, joint courses etc. One of the professors from Arkansas will be teaching at GD Goenka University as a visiting faculty for the upcoming semester. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these internationalization efforts which are aimed at providing a global exposure to them.
