Dr. Fon Sim is a charismatic lady who has shared her experiences related with management education pedagogy. She has rightly said that management education is a complex area to teach so faculty must equip the students with knowledge so that they can use this knowledge in their practice. There are basically two distinctive aspects of business education, that are dynamic environment, as environment regularly changes in business and proactive approach, appropriate planning is required in business. She has also discussed Bloom’s Taxonomy learning domains and learning outcomes. She has even discussed learning, teaching and assessment strategies, teaching and assessment methods of management discipline. She has also put light on the new media use for educational purposes, simulation games, MOOC and internship. She also recommended the integration of cross curricula themes like ethics, environment and economy with management studies and most important is linking theory with practices. She also gave importance to video clips and case studies which can be used as tools for studying management. The students in the final year of management studies must concentrate on the research work in which they can use their knowledge and guidance of their faculty guides to move in the right direction in their research topic.
She has also mentioned the “Young Professional Scholars Award” to the researchers who can visit Nottingham University, UK and work with senior professors on the projects.
At the end of the session, Dr. Pradeep Goel has discussed with the speaker about the pedagogy that is used in GD Goenka University.
Major Findings: All the methods which Dr. Fon Sim has explained in the lecture in her pedagogy in higher education are in use in the School of Management, GDGU from the starting of the University.
