4th March 2016: School of Engineering at GD Goenka University today organized a talk by Mr. Abhijit Dutta, CRM, Skills Gap Solutions. Mr. Dutta has more than 20 years of experience in software development, sales, standards formation, and has worked with IBM for more than 11years. He has also worked on local language computing and formulated the interoperability standards for many Indian languages.

Mr. Dutta gave a talk on “Cloud as a resource and Business Analytics as a tool: What is new and what is old”. Students of B.Tech (CSE) 2nd /4th semester were the audience for this talk. Most of these were those students who have opted for the GDGU-IBM collaborative program being offered at the GD Goenka University campus. The talk was very interactive, where students were allowed to interrupt and ask questions to the speaker whenever they felt for it.

Mr. Dutta, discussed about the silent features of these technologies and the role which these technologies might play in future along with the job prospects and the key skillset that these students must focus upon. He also elaborated the evolution process of these technologies and the impact they play in todays world.

Earlier some of these students have also participated in a poster making competition on a similar theme so this time they had a bunch of questions. These students used this interactive sessions to get the answers to those questions from Mr. Abhijit Dutta. Students were happy after getting satisfactory answers to their questions.

The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pooja Sapra, Associate Professor, department of CSE, SoE, GDGU.
