Sonali Sokhal is the Founder of Intelliquo Integrated Communications, a Public Relations , Media Outreach and Communication Solutions Company. She has over a decade and half of experience in Public Relations ranging from luxury, lifestyle, media, entertainment, education, health, FMCG and consumer durables. Having worked with both boutique and corporate pr agencies, Sonali has a strong understanding of what goes into creating an effective PR and Brand Building campaign. She has a tremendous amount of experience in Public Relations ranging from FMCG (Fast Moving Consumers Goods), health, education, media, entertainment, lifestyle, consumer’s durables and even luxury products.

Ms. Sonali visited our campus on 25th feburary, 2016 and she gave an educational and professional lecture to the School of Hospitality students. She had prepared a quite a descriptive presentation on how to market and take your restaurant forward into the market.

The whole lecture was really knowledgeable. We got to learn the expert’s point of view of how to position your restaurant. She held a fast interactive session, students were asking about various new trends and how to market their brand once they come into this business.

Ms. Sonali handles a few well know brands like Monkey bar, Raasta, Radisson Blu(Noida), The Fatty Bao and Kylin. The students felt connected with her as she understood her customer base, which is our generation itself. She taught us about how to handle the reputation of the restaurant on the social media. She opined that this type of media is really sensitive and should be handled with care. This forum of communication can ruin the brand’s reputation in just hours’ time.

She even showed us various clipping of the reviews and the photos of press kit that how it is, what all it contains and gave more information about the role of media and the bloggers or critics in making the name of the restaurant or ruining it completely.

At last she made us understand that restaurant business seems all glitz and glamourous but it is a tricky and really tough business. One has be all the time on his/her toes for any kind of situations, like it can be a bad review or just a simple fact that the chef is under the weather for the day. Overall, the experience was very revealing and made us more aware of the restaurant business. She made us see the other side of the hospitality industry, that is tough and very competitive.
