School of Law successfully conducted its first Intra- School Moot Court Competition on 16-17 April, 2015. The moot proposition was released 20 days in advacnce to give plenty of time to the students to find out lacunae and principles to be applied to their arguments. The problem was based mainly on area of law involving the concepts of contract and law of torts. A preliminary round was conducted between 46 students from BCom.LLB. (Hons.), BBA.LLB. (Hons.), BA.LLB. (Hons.), LLB. (Hons.) who enthusiastically participated in the said competition. The event witnessed the student’s arguing from the side of the appellant as well as the respondent. Four students shortlisted in the preliminary round battled in the finals to win the title of best team, best advocate and best memorial.

The event was motivated by the esteemed presence of Dr. Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Nitesh Bansal, Registrar and Deans of other schools. Prof. Anil Dawra inspired the students for inculcating in them advocacy skills by taking a session on mooting skills. The program concluded with the stimulating and motivating words of Prof.(Dr.) Subhash Gupta, the Dean, School of Law. Ashank Yadav and Mansi Gupta were awarded the Best Team; Govardhan Bhardwaj and Ravina Yadav emerged as the runners-up team. Ashank Yadav also received the award for best advocate and best memorial.
