A Faculty Development Programme (FDP-2016) was conducted in the School of Management, GD Goenka University, on 10th March 2016 by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Mangla, Assistant Professor – SOM. The topic for the FDP was “Trade Liberalization and Productivity”. It was conducted from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in Block – A(School of Management Block). The faculty members have attended the FDPfrom School of Management – GD Goenka University. The resource person in this FDP started his discussion with the very basic idea of Trade Liberalization and its impact on productivity as per the study in focus spread over a period of 22 years with the help of a Power Point Presentation. The session targeted 2 basic industries i.e. Iron – Steel and Cement Industry.

Mr. Sanjay elaborated on the following aspects:-

  • Economic crisis and reforms i.e. Industrial Policy Reforms, Financial Sector Reforms and Trade Liberalization Reforms
  • Impact of trade liberalization on productivity
  • Significant impact of decline in interest rate and inflation rate and increase in construction sector growth rate

It was completely an interactive session throughout. It had an overwhelming response from the participants.
