School of Hospitality will celebrate ‘World Tourism Day’ on 28th September 2015, with an engaging lecture by an esteemed guest, Mr. Maahesh S Aiyer, Chief Operating Officer-South, Lemon Tree Hotels. An inter-School Essay Writing competition and Collage making competition with the theme ‘A Billion Tourists, A Billion Opportunities’ is being organized in the University earlier this week, the winners of which will be announced at the event.

Mr. Maahesh S Aiyer is a highly committed Management expert with excitingly broad exposure across markets and functions, highlighted by a track record of consistent, proactively driven growth.

With more than 20 years of Experience in Service Industry, Mr. Aiyer has broad exposure in key markets (Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Malaysia ) backed by expertise in managing Sales/Marketing, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Business Development, Performance, Client Relations, Operations, Profit Centre head, Innovation, People management ,Turn around , and New product and service design development.

As Chief Operating Officer of The Lemon Tree Hotel Company, Mr. Aiyer he has been instrumental in Redefining the brand Lemon Tree Premier and its key deliverables on relevant differentiation, Growing the brand to be among the leader in the segment.

Mr. Mahesh S Aiyer did his schooling from Carmel High School Port Blair after which he did B Tech from University of Calicut. Later he did his MBA in Marketing from University of Madras.

He is a Team Builder who emotionally connects with his team, communicates clearly, encourages radical thinking, creates a winning spirit, gives space to perform, stretches their limits and develops performers for future roles.
