The Students of BA (Hons.) Applied Psychology and MA (Counselling Psychology), G D Goenka University, Gurgaon visited the National Brain Research Centre, Manesar (Gurgaon) on November 9, 2016. National Brain Research Centre is the only institute in India dedicated to neuroscience research and education. Scientists and students of NBRC come from diverse academic backgrounds, including biological, computational, mathematical, physical, engineering and medical sciences, and use multidisciplinary approaches to understand the brain.

The objective of this visit was to understand the importance of cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience in the contemporary researches in Psychology. The students were exposed to many neuroimaging techniques like 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)Scanner, Electroencephalography (EEG), and Evoked Response Potential Recording (ERP). They also visited various other Laboratories like Molecule Lab, Anatomy Lab. They were also exposed to preserved human brain and got to know the parts and functioning of the brain. Overall, the visit was very much useful to the students.
