Advancements for Internationalisation of Teacher Education Curriculum

School of Education organized a week long workshop for its faculty members on the theme,“Advancements for Internationalization of Teacher Education Curriculum”.The first session of the workshop was held for Orienting the Teacher Educators about IB                (International Baccalaureate) Education System.

The IB trained and certified resource persons for the workshop were MsPoonam Singh, MsSeemaChakraborty and MsMadhuNangia from G D Goenka World School, Gurugram.In the series of these workshops, the topic for the first day was ‘IB Learner Profile and Significance of Reflections in IB Curriculum’. The IB system aims at creating inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who can help in creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The session was very interactive wherein the faculty members got to know the IB Curriculum closely. They got to know the various qualities that the IB Curriculum wishes to inculcate among its students such as being a reflective thinker, a risk taker and a balanced individual. These words are in line with the mission statement of the IB Curriculum. The resource persons focused on the importance of reflections as   an integral part of the IB Curriculum. This enables the student to critically analyse and evaluate each and every activity and be able to explore by himself and be innovative. The session was informative and very engaging.
