Professional Biography

Parvesh Lata expertise is in science education particularly environmental sciences and teacher education.  She taught these subjects for nearly 14 years at affiliated colleges of GGSIP University and universities such as the School of Education, Jamia Milia Islamia.

Prior to taking up the current role in 2019 at GD Goenka University, Parvesh Lata served in various academic and research positions such as Associate Professor (Education) at Delhi Teachers’ Training College, and Research Officer, School of Education (Jamia Millia Islamia) for the Project ‘Setting up of School of Education’ funded through the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching scheme; Lecturer, Biological Sciences SCERT-DIET, Karkardooma; Lecturer, Environmental Science, BPSM Girls College, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat; University Research Fellowship at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

Parvesh Lata holds a PhD ​from Maharishi Dayanand​ University; M.Sc. (Environmental Science) from Guru Jabheshwar University; B.Ed. and M.Ed. from Maharishi Dayanand​ University and M.Phil. (Education) from Kurukshetra University; Online course Module ‘Supervising Pre-service Teachers’ Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, 2016.

Current Research

​Parvesh Lata’s research interests are in e-learning or ICT mediated education and text based content in science education. Her Research Development of IT-Enabled Instructional Package in Science and its Impact on Academic Achievement of School Students aimed to ascertain the effect of IT-enabled instructional package on academic achievement of tenth class students. The study establishes the effectiveness of ITEIP by comparing the achievement scores of 10th class students of two groups (i.e. experimental and control) by teaching the selected content of science syllabus prescribed by CBSE board. Her e-module in Science (Biology) with its variety in the presentation of content helps learners in concentration, better understanding, and long retention of information which is not possible otherwise. Parvesh Lata’s current research interests are focused on e-content and text-based curriculum material development. She has developed the e-module in Science (Biology) and also, she has developed material for MOOCs and university courses in the field of education. The learners can get opportunity to work on any live project with learners and experts from other countries.
