SOED proudly celebrated Haryana Day on 01.11.2019. It is important for student-teachers to learn about, appreciate, and feel pride in one’s culture. Such events also encourage a sense of unity and harmony among the different cultures, art forms, and traditions of our country. Some of our students sang beautifully a Haryanvi folk song that reminded everyone of the rich cultural history of the state. Student-teachers spoke confidently on ‘Haryana: An Integral Part of India’. They not only reminded us about the rich cultural past, current development, achievements, and contribution of Haryana and Haryanvi people, but also created a critical dialogue on the reasons that are hindering further growth of the state. Speaking on such events helps in grooming our student-teachers into better public speakers who are also well read and critically aware of the current issues in our society. The celebration concluded with the Dean madam’s inspiring words. Prof. Raina appreciated the efforts put in by the student-teachers to make the celebrations so meaningful and lively.
