Professional Biography

Shubham Verma expertise is in manufacturing, particularly friction stir welding.

Prior to taking up the current role in 2019, Shubham Verma worked as a Research Fellow in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.

Shubham Verma holds a PhD from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra; M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra; and B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from Kurukshetra University. Shubham Verma was awarded a merit scholarship by the University Grants Commission to undertake his PhD.  Shubham Verma was recently awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship through China’s ‘International Postdoctoral Exchange Program’.

Current Research

Shubham Verma key research area is in manufacturing. He has developed a modified form of vertical milling machine for performing FSW by fabricating fixture with provision of real-time measurement of frictional temperature, forces and facility of preheating and water-cooling.
