The Blockchain Technology workshop was organized by School of Engineering, GD Goenka University during REDSET 2019. The aim of this workshop was to provide a broad platform for students, researchers and academicians to learn and develop concepts of Blockchain Technology. The workshop was held on 15th Nov’19.It was attended by 42 participants. There were two resource persons for the workshop Mr. Anupam Tiwari and Mr. Harjot Singh. They delivered very engaging and informative talks followed by an interactive hands-on session. Mr. Anupam Tiwari, is an IT Security enthusiast and an incisive learner, holds rich experience and qualifications in the demesne including CDAC & GFSU Certified Cyber Security Professional, Certified Ethical Hacker with B.E and M.Tech in Computer Science from JNTU Hyderabad. He also holds three post graduation qualifications in Information Security, ERP and Operations & Systems. He was accompanied by Mr. Harjot Singh, who is a versatile and result oriented IT professional and Blockchain enthusiast with 20 years plus of leadership experience in the Indian Army. A keen reader who likes experimenting with new technologies. He also has expertise in hands on IT strategic infrastructure forecasting & planning and execution, and has 15 years experience in the field of Cyber Security, Incident Response, mitigation, IT security planning, policy formulation and disaster management to ensure BCP. We could achieve the expected outcome of the workshop, i.e., the students were able to learn and develop basic concepts of Blockchain technology. The students could understand the concepts of Blockchain technology and its applications for decentralization, immutability, security, and transparency. We are looking forward to more collaborationfor extensive workshopsfor students.
