School of law, G.D. Goenka University along with several prominent women’s group such as Centre for Social Research, celebrated Mahila Aarakshan Diwas on September 14, 2016 at DilliHaatto reaffirm their dedication to the entry of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the parliament.

On this occasion, DrRanjanaKumari, director of Centre for Social Research, said the fight for passage of the Bill would continue. She also stated that the current government which is presently in majority in the lower house was capable of passing the Bill that demands 50% of reservation for women in parliament and fulfill its pre-election promise regarding women’s welfare.

In order to support the event, there were several acts performed by women such as motivation speeches, reciting slogans and poems, dances, singing and a mock parliament portrayed by the student of G. D. Goenka University, School of Law where they got an opportunity to express their views and discuss about the issue of Women Reservation and other women related contemporary issues.
