Career Overview

Law is a profession of great demand in India, and all around the world. The rising demand for lawyers is fuelled by the changing social and economic circumstances and the ever-increasing regulatory role of the government. The legal profession in India has undergone a strategic and substantial change over the last few decades. Law aspirants not only distinguish themselves in courts but mark their presence in various corporate houses, law agencies, law firms, litigation, NGOs and administrative services.

Since a lawyer holds a great responsibility in moulding society, legal education plays a major role in shaping society at large. Legal education trains individuals on principles, philosophies, ethics, history, and ideologies. An individual should be aware of the society he is intending to start practice in. The lawyer should acquire the fullest knowledge of the constitution and culture during the course period. A lawyer who develops perseverance becomes a great lawyer. Legal education also inculcates analytical abilities, research abilities, and logical thinking, judgment, and communication skills.

School of Law at GD Goenka University offers 3 years LL.B (Hons.) Degree as well as 5 Years integrated Law degree programmes such as BA-LLB(Hons.) & BBA-LLB(Hons.). These Degree Programmes are offered in various Specializations such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Corporate Law & Arbitration. School of Law also offers 1 Year LL.M Degree Programme with Specialization in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration Law & IPR. Training students in these specialized courses will prepare them for jobs as Associate Partner in corporate Law Firms, Patent Attorney, Tax Lawyer, Legal Advisor in Banks, PSUs, LPOs etc. to name a few.
