Dr. Rakesh KumarAssistant Professor
Dr. Rakesh Kumar is an expert in the area of Procedural Law subjects like, drafting and pleadings, civil procedure code, and constitutional law. Rakesh delivers subjects such as information technology laws, media laws, public international law, criminology, victimology and penology and income tax laws. He has nearly 14 years of aggregate teaching and practitioner experience. In addition to his current role at G D Goenka University, he has also taught at the University of Delhi.
Rakesh also has experience in litigation, especially in the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court. He has expertise in drafting legal documents, performing in-depth research, and providing general administrative support includes preparing pleadings, motions, discoveries, and briefs, as well as interacting with courts to facilitate streamlined legal operations.
He is also the Convener of the Legal Aid Committee at G D Goenka University. When at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, he was the Convener of the Media Committee, Member of the Moot Court Society, Legal Aid Committee, Admissions Committee, and Hospitality Committee. Rakesh also has experience in media and has worked with All India Radio, Central Monitoring Services, and The Times of India Chandigarh.
Rakesh earned his PhD. from the National Law University of Delhi; LL.M. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi; another LL.M with specialisation in Cyber Laws from GGSIP University, Dwarka, New Delhi; and LLB from Law Centre II, University of Delhi. He is UGC-NET iqualified, has an MBA from IIFT and a degree in Mass Communication from IIMC.
