Guest lecture on “The Relevance of UNCLOS in 21st Century

School of Law organised a special lecture on “The Relevance of UNCLOS in 21st Century“, on 9th October 2019 a first of its kind lecture by Lieutenant Commander Abhimanyu Singh, Deputy Judge Advocate, Indian Navy.

International Maritime law is one of the most relevant subjects today and is rapidly growing. The joining of the world’s countries to protect the oceans through the Law of the Sea Convention signals society’s growing recognition of the importance of the oceans to life on Earth. Topics like Maritime Boundaries, Warships and immunities, Hot pursuit and autonomous ships were covered in the session. Officer urged the students to join NDA and JAG that has been playing a key role in the growth of the nation by producing a cadre of highly qualified experts in the field. The students immensely gained from the lecture.
