In 2014 the ‘World Marketing Congress’ recognised Sudipta Sen Gupta as one of the ‘100 Best Marketing Leaders’ in India. In 2004, ‘Business Today’ recognised Sudipta as being among the ‘Top 25 Young Business Executives of India’. She was also the winner of the ‘Indira Super Achiever Award’ in 2003. Sudipta has extensive corporate experience in leadership roles in multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola, Carlsberg Group, Del Monte and Compaq Computer. As a member of the leadership team, Sudipta has also built Indian companies such as Café Coffee Day, Nirulas and INOX FMCG.
She has built brands, businesses and led organizations for over 21 years before joining academics. She continues to mentor and offer consulting services to start-ups and social entrepreneurships, many of which are pro-bono work.
Over the past three years, her research has focussed on corporate social responsibility and sustainability. She has presented her work at various national and international academic conferences.
Prior to taking up the current role in G D Goenka University in 2017, Sudipta Sen Gupta served in various academic positions such as Visiting Professor (Retail Management), Nirma University, Ahmedabad; and Guest Lecturer at IIM Bangalore & Shillong, ISB Hyderabad, IIT Delhi & Bombay, NITIE Mumbai, Xavier Institute of Communications Mumbai, FMS Delhi, and Delhi School of Economics.
Sudipta Sen Gupta has submitted her PhD thesis at G D Goenka University. She holds an Advanced Management Diploma from AIMA, Delhi; MBA (Specializing in Marketing) from FMS, Delhi University; and B.Sc (Physics Hons) from the University of Calcutta.

Sudipta Sen Gupta’s current research interests continue to be in the areas of Sustainability and CSR while exploring new avenues of social and entrepreneurial marketing. She maintains her connections with the industry, as a lifetime member of All India Management Association (AIMA), the apex body for management professionals in India.
