It all started at 9 am, when everyone seated in the bus, waiting for the trip to start and then finally the fun trip began. Pratapgarh farms in Jhajjar is around 100 km away and the students reached the venue around 12:30 .The long journey became really fun with friends and faculty members singing and playing games. As soon as we reached we were welcomed with a nice gesture by the traditional Indian ritual of applying Tilak ceremony and nice folk music. This was followed by lunch where we were served the authentic Haryanvi food that is makki/bajra roti with ghee .We were also given a chance to cook the bajra roti. After lunch we were taken around the entire farm .We were shown ethnic mud huts, serene ponds with ducks, jumping sprinklers and cattle barns-full of goats, sheeps, buffaloes, and a poultry farm full of ducks. As it was really a sunny day we were served nimboo shikanjee and butter milk .We were then taken for a camel ride, bullock cart ride, horse ride and a tractor ride. Ethnic games like gilli danda, tug of war, kite flying , archery, kabbadi, dart shooting and air gun shooting were also planned for us. The boys enjoyed games like soccer, badminton, cricket and trampoline jumping. Indoor game like table-tennis, carrom, chess and snakes and ladders were really fun to play games like lemon race, sack-race, musical chairs and tambola were also organised for us. Rural activities such as pottery, mud bath, painting frescoes on mud walls were enjoyed by the teachers and the students. Rural recreation activities such as application of mehendi, head massage, mud bath and tube well bath was really a different experience altogether. The cherry on the cake was the DJ, so everyone has enjoyed dancing. This trip got us closer to nature and taught us about how people live in villages. It was really a new experience, as the students got exposure to the things they had not done earlier and learnt a lot of new things. All of the students are looking forward to such kind of recreational and educational trips.
